The Senior Manager of Project & Program Management is responsible for the successful delivery of a large, high-velocity portfolio of projects. The Senior Manager of Project & Program Management will manage a team of project and/or programs managers with responsibility for employee development and an emphasis on establishing repeatability in a dynamic environment.
The successful candidate will be part of a cross-functional team and work very closely with our internal business partners in pursuit of delivering on business outcomes. The role requires the candidate to be delivery-focused, with the ability to manage all aspects of a project portfolio, including resource planning, financial management, and reporting, as well as customer relationship management. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment where personal responsibility and open, direct, respectful communications are essential.

• Ensure customer satisfaction through the delivery of high-quality project management services and implementation services across a large portfolio of projects
• Monitor performance of team members and provide timely feedback and development assistance
• Manage resource assignments and staffing levels, including recruitment as needed
• Ability to drive programmatic control of a portfolio of projects
• Develop senior-level relationships with stakeholders
• Identify and implement improvements to the processes and tools used in the project management practice area
• Share the voice of our customers across the organization and be a champion for improved customer experiences
• Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project and program team
• Set performance targets, monitor staff performance, and complete performance reviews
• Support and drive change management initiatives to increase teamwork and collaboration
• Foster teamwork, communication, and collaboration amongst staff members; championing TriNet’s culture, vision and mission.
• Set standards for project management capabilities, including certifications and qualifications for Project Managers, success measurement criteria, methodologies, tools to be used, etc.
• Oversee the delegation of work to Project Coordinators, Project Managers, Program Managers and ensure proper communication and coordination with technology scrum teams.
• Manage the risk, issue and portfolio change management process, and work with other leaders to take corrective action as needed.
• Serve as dotted line leader to various technical, professional, and/or administrative personnel engaged in specified project activities, across multiple sites as appropriate to the position.
• Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the manager’s discretion.

• Bachelor’s Degree, or higher
Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates):
• Agile, PMP, or any project methodology certifications are desired, but not required
• Any Portfolio Management certifications are helpful, but not required
• Minimum 5 years of direct management experience
• Minimum 10 years of hands-on project experience

• Demonstrates ability to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Proven success in providing leadership and ability to garner support from direct reports, peers, and colleagues in other departments.
• Ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization
• Capable of applying a full understanding of project and program management methodologies to resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways.
• Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Provides guidance to subordinates within established company policies. Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s).
• Ability to work on issues of diverse impact where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends. Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Acts as advisor to subordinate(s) to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems. Develops and administers performance requirements; may have budget responsibilities.
• Frequently interacts with supervisors, customers, and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company. Often must lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team.
• Manages the coordination of the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing. May be responsible for a functional area and not have any subordinate employees. Normally receives guidance regarding overall mission, short-term and mid-term objectives, scheduling, unusual priorities, etc.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/OTHER INFORMATION (Travel required, physical requirements, on-call schedules, etc.)
• Minimal travel required
• Work in clean, pleasant, and comfortable office setting
• May be frequently required to mobilize around the work area, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, and be present continuously at a workstation for up to three (3) consecutive hours.
• Must have the ability to use a computer mouse, keyboard, telephone, and other equipment typically found in an office environment. This equipment will be used throughout the duration of the workday, often simultaneously.
