JOB SUMMARY/OVERVIEW
The Director, User Experience Design, is responsible for building and leading a team of user experience and visual designers to create an incredible user experience. This role will provide usability support to product teams, develop methodologies used in the testing, analysis of applications/systems, as well as graphical, web, multimedia, and conversational user interfaces. Ensure products meet high standards of usability and design excellence, works cross-functionally to evaluate, design and test enhancements, plans standards for design concept and evaluates technologies against industry standards to ensure compliance. Will partner successfully with product leadership and stakeholders to deliver and launch multiple products simultaneously.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
• Establish strategic plans and best practices for UX design and software innovation process by recommending improved deliverables.
• Work with Product team to identify and conceptualize new products and improve existing solutions.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, Customer Experience and sales teams to ensure focus throughout the product design process.
• Define a clear design strategy, UX architecture and usability patterns to drive efficiency and consistency into our user experience.
• Articulate with leadership the ideas and concepts through user-centered design methods.
• Engage in forward thinking experimentation and generate compelling interactive prototypes that drive/inspire the product vision.
• Understand our industry and client expectations to create exceptional user experience.
• Ensure products meet high standards or usability and design excellence, works cross-functionally to evaluate and design enhancements, plans standards for design concept and evaluates technologies against industry standards to ensure compliance.
• Champion a high level of creativity that fosters positive engagement and collaboration within the team, as well as cross functionally with other teams.
• Guide the team toward ongoing improvements by using client feedback, data, metrics and analytic findings.
• Balance design, design leadership and hands-on team leadership to show the problems that need to be solved and lead the team to the solutions.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in HCI, Computer Science, Design, Visual Arts, or equivalent.
Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates):
• N/A

Requisite Experience and Education:
• 7+ years’ experience with user research and user experience.
• 5+ years leading a diverse UX design team
• Commitment to working with Product Managers, Engineers and Customer Experience/Success teams to ensure focus throughout product design process.
• Proven track record of owning or playing a major role in the user experience/interaction design of products, sites and / or applications.
• Portfolio of projects including project deliverables and finished products, as well as, past experience or academic achievement in the areas of user research and/or design methods focusing on user experience design is required.
• Successful in delivering multiple programs simultaneously, building appropriate processes and tools and cross-organizational product launches.
• Experience with multi-platform projects, media delivery applications for large audiences and project which require handling large volumes of complex information.
• Extensive experience in developing industry leading Enterprise 2.0 / social web applications, Mobile Apps, and Service center Apps, both on CSS3 Browsers and Mobil (iOS/Android) Tablet Platforms.
• Fluent in usability standards and design heuristics for mobile, web and other platforms.
• Experience with or knowledge of cloud-based solutions (SaaS) a plus.

• Excellent communication, written, organizational and presentation skills.
• A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, intermediate Excel knowledge.
• Knowledge of PEO products, services, and markets, as well as operations, cross-functional workflows, and interaction between the various company units, processes, and systems, a plus.

• Minimal travel (<20%) required
